The final leg of the Texas Championship Series is finally set. The contest is on the IAC website and pre-registration is open!
It is time for your annual pilgrimage to the Texas Hill Country…IAC Chapter 107 is again hosting Hammerfest in Llano, Texas. KAQO
We will open this outstanding event with practice on Thursday, 17 October. Contest flying will be Friday and Saturday 18-19 October with Sunday the 20th as a weather back-up day.
These dates should avoid the worst of the Texas heat, let you relax after Nationals and give everyone one last chance to enjoy a contest before winter arrives.
In the interest of maximum participation we will also introduce the “Legacy” category at our contest this year. So, if you’re a semi-retired competition pilot get up off the couch and back in the game. See details on the Legacy Category here…https://www.iac.org/news/2019-05-11-the-new-iac-legacy-category
Llano offers plenty of accommodations, both hotel and B&B. While there is no official contest hotel many of the local options are affordable and convenient. A quick perusal of several websites revealed the following options (in no particular order):
Best Western Llano $110 per night (325) 247-4101
Lone Star Inn $75 per night (325) 247-4111
Day’s Inn $121 per night (325) 247-1141
Llano Motel ?? (325) 247-5786
Stand-by for details on the social side, but plan on pizza on Thursday (it’s kinda a tradition).
If you have questions, or need more information, contact our intrepid CD, Chrissy Jenkins at txyogaprincess@yahoo.com or 210-485-8026.
We look forward to seeing you in Llano!
