HIGH PLANES HOTPOXIA 2018
We plan to put the box markers out on Tuesday July 10 so we all can get used to the density altitude. Let us know if you plan to arrive before July 13. Tell us what you fly so we can plan the hangar space. Registration is Friday July 13. It is an early Saturday – Sunday contest.
Please join us July 13-15 for this year’s HotPoxia! Despite the name, this year’s contest will be held at Sterling Municipal Airport (KSTK), one of the lowest elevation airports in Colorado. Yet everyone gets a free break just for showing up. No excuses!
Primary to Unlimited Power. Official practice day will be Friday the 13th (we needed this extra challenge), with contest flying Saturday and Sunday. Weather permitting, we will aim to finish in the early afternoon Sunday. This year, we are introducing video recording. While we are still working out some technical kinks there, our goal is to provide each contestant with a video of their flights. So in addition to lunches and daily snacks, your registration fee of $200 ($150 for students) also gets you a video you can use it to brag, self-critique, or to just show your non-flying friends what you are up to.
Please pre-register early by filling out the attached form and sending it back to nick@slabakov.com. If it is easier, no need to sign at this time, we will have the form ready for you at the contest for signature. Please pre-register even if you are not 100% certain you will be able to attend! It will be much easier to remove people last-minute than to add them. Hangar space will be reserved in the order of pre-registration. Thank you for the help here, it will help smooth things out on Friday.

Second, the request: If you are planning on flying a free sequence, please email a PDF Judge-signed copy of the A, B, C forms to nick@slabakov.comASAP. We are trying to pre-print all sequences and have them ready before the contest, so we do not incur extra delays copying and collating the sequences there. Really appreciate your help in this!
