The IAC Chapter 24 Board of Directors met on November 2 , 2016 at 7pm in Frisco, Texas. Those present were Curt Richmond, Tom Rhodes, Mike Galloway, Pat Clark, Bill Denton, Daryle Grounds and Julia Wood via phone.
Daryle Grounds reported that we are in good standing with IAC and the State of Texas. He also reported on our current financial position which is very positive with @$13,000 on hand and @$73,500 in a CD which is renewable every 2 years.
We presently have 78 members and 55 have paid their dues.
We discussed at length how to recruit new members to our club and the aerobatic community in general and position our new younger members for a leadership position.
We also discussed how we may develop more influence with our IAC organization. A.J. Hefel and Bruce Ballow may be our avenue to accomplish this for our Chapter.
Next, we reviewed the Chapter By-Laws.
Members: must be an active member in good standing of IAC and have paid all membership dues. Members shall meet at least twice a year for receipt of reports of operation and election of Directors of the Corporation. A quorum shall be no less than one third of the Members.
Directors: Board shall be composed of not less than three (3) and not more than nine (9) individuals elected by the Members for a term of four (4) years which was passed by a unanimous vote by the Board of Directors. The Board shall meet not less than once each calendar year and meetings shall be held in November or December of each year.
Executive Committee: EC shall be composed of the officers of the Corporation.
Officers: President and Secretary and Treasurer. A vice-president and officers may be appointed as the Board of Directors.Any two offices except those of President and Vice-President or President and Secretary, may be filled by the same person.
Chapter 24’s Lone Star Aerobatic contest to be held June 1-4, 2017 with a rain day on the 4th. The contest will be held at North Texas Regional. Bill Denton will act as the Contest Director. The banquet will be on Saturday night and the classic belt buckles will be given out.
The Board voted to sponsor the Super D Tango contest again next year to be held in July at Akroville.
We also discussed hiring a marketing person for our Chapter.
Finally, a Christmas Party was discussed possibly holding it sometime in December.
