Join us at the Vicki Cruse Pavilion which is located along Wittman Road at the northeast corner of Phillips 66 Plaza.  This is home to IAC during AirVenture. Attend aerobatic forums in the morning, shop for aerobatic merchandise and books in the IAC Gift Shop, and join IAC all in one convenient location.

There will be a full roster of forums at the Pavilion. The forums are scheduled daily from Tuesday, July 27, through Friday, July 30, 2021, and run for approximately one hour and 15 minutes each.

Tuesday, July 27th
8:30 a.m. – Budd Davisson :  Aerobatic Classics: How do they fly?
Budd has over 44 years and more than 5,500 hours of dual training given – just in the pattern teaching people to master the Pitts on the ground and in the air. Budd concentrates training on overcoming the mystique of the Pitts and similar airplanes.
10 a.m. – Gordon Penner : 
Gordon is a Master CFI-Aerobatics and an FAA Gold Seal instructor. He flies professionally for a cargo carrier in a Boeing 767 and has over 13,000 hours of flight time. He is a Sportsman Competitor, first in a Decathlon and more recently in a Pitts S-1C. He is a regular author for Sport Aerobatics Magazine and In the Loop e-newsletter.
11:30 a.m. – Dagmar Kress :
Dagmar is an International World Aerobatic Champion who has competed for the United States and also for Germany, where she is from. She is a certified flight instructor and professor at Metropolitan State University Denver (MSU). She has been involved in aviation for over 30 years. She is the 2018 Frank Price Cup recipient.

Wednesday, July 28th
 8:30 a.m. – OPEN
10 a.m. – Bill Finagin :
WIlliam “Bill” Finagin was inducted into the IAC Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, in 2008. Bill is a MCFI-Aerobatic and does flight instruction(link is external) for unusual attitude/upset training, aerobatics and Pitts checkouts. He was a compeittion pilot for many years through 2008 and continued on as an aerobatic judge until 2014.
11:30 a.m. – Michael Church :
Michael has been a full-time CFI for several decades, amassing more than 12,000 hours dual given, much of it teaching Aerobatics at Sunrise Aviation(link is external), Santa Ana, CA. He is a National judge and a professional competition coach.
1:00 p.m. – Jim Bourke:
Jim is currently the IAC president and has served as a member of the board of directors as Northwest Regional Director. He has immersed himself in the IAC organizational activities; he is a National judge, a contest director, a 2017 and 2019 Unlimited Aerobatic Team member. Jim deeply enjoys this sport of aerobatics and the people involved in it.

Thursday, July 29th
8:30 a.m. – Susan Bell :
Susan began her contest life in a Bellanca 8KCAB and flew it in the 2016 contest season until she changed her mount to an Extra 300. In 2017 she flew two contests and in 2018 she flew in six contests including the U.S. National Aerobatic Championships. She is the first recipient of the Giles Henderson Trophy awarded to the Sportsman category champion.
10 a.m. – Tom Johnson: 
Tom has been flying since 1974. His main interest has been in soaring. (gliders) He is a trustee of the Soaring Safety Foundation. Tom flies as a captain on the 757 for United Parcel Service and is a form Naval Aviator. He has been writing safety articles for Sport Aerobatics magazine since 2019.
11:30 a.m. – Jim Luger – TOPIC : Learning to Love getting all shook up
Jim’s aviation career started in the early 1970s when he bacame a young commercial pilot and certificated fligth instructor. He has specialized in teaching experienced pilots to fly aerobatic and how to maintiain and regain control of an airplane that goes out of control. He is the author of the book, “Loop, Roll, and Keep Control

Friday, July 30th
8:30 – 9:30 a.m. – IAC Annual Membership Meeting
10:00 a.m. – Mike Lents : TOPIC: Sequence Design
Mike is a 3-time Master CFI-Aerobatics, Coach at the University of North Dakota for their Aerobatic Team. He was a member of the U.S. Advanced Team who brought home a second place medal from the 2018 World Advanced Aerobatic Championships. He is the Vice President of IAC chapter 78 in Minnesota and the current IAC Sequence Committee Chair.
